CAPM Exam Changes from January 2023

As you are aware project management is a rapidly growing profession. Research indicates that employers will need to fill nearly 2.2 million new project-oriented roles each year through 2027 (PMI Report). 

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® is an entry-level certification for individuals seeking just starting in project management roles in the project. The certification authority, PMI has announced that the CAPM exam pattern will be changing January 2023. The new pattern is based on the PMBOK 7 edition of PMI. 

Eligibility for the exam:

• Bachelor Degree
• Project management experience is not required
• 23 hours of training in project management

Exam Pattern:

• 150 questions
• 3 hours
• Proctored Online or Pearson Vu Exam Center

As per the new exam content outline (ECO), there are 4 domains in the curriculum. They are:

• Domain 1: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36% questions)
• Domain 2: Predictive, Plan-Based Methodologies (17% questions)
• Domain 3: Adaptive Frameworks/Methodologies (20% questions)
• Domain 4: Business Analysis Frameworks (27% questions)
